Application Process

Students interested in applying to BIS should complete an application form as well as provide all items on the application checklist. Once all the items are completed, an interview should be scheduled with both the School Director and Business Manager. If possible, students entering grades 7-12 need to be present for the interview. Upon enrollment, all students will need to take an entrance-screening test that includes a language, mathematics, and general knowledge assessment as conducted by the Curriculum Coordinator. In addition, all financial obligations must be met before the application process can be completed.

 

Re-Enrollment Process

All current students who wish to enroll for the following school year must completed a Re-Enrollment application. The Registration Fee and Administration Fee (see Financial Information section) are both due at the time of the application is submitted to the Business Office. These applications must be submitted based on the notice provided by the school.

Financial Information

The following information is a breakdown of all current tuition and fees. All financial obligations must be met before the enrollment process can be completed. Please keep in mind that this information is updated each school year. All school fees are calculated based on Brazilian Real currency.

 

Tuition

Standard tuition is based on twelve monthly payments of the designated amount. Our payment process is linked to ITAU Banking Services. Therefore, all applicants will receive and 12 month payment booklet. These payments can be made at any bank location up to the due date. Thereafter, payments must be paid at an ITAU location with applicable late fees. No tuition payments are made at school. Please note that items such as fund raising, yearbooks, club fees, lunches (Grades K-12), uniforms, and other school activities are not covered in the standard tuition.
The following is an overview of all current fees. Please keep in mind these fees are subject to change each school year.

• Administration Fee

This yearly fee will is charged to cover student bulk quantity supplies, books, agendas, and library fee. This fee applies to ALL students. Please note this fee DOES NOT include items such as backpacks, pencils, gluesticks, pens, markers, erasers, and notebooks/paper.

Registration Fee

Registration Fees must be paid for at the BIS Business Office upon submission of Enrollment and/or Re-Enrollment Application. This yearly fee applies to each student that enrolls as we update our application and files each school year.

School Development Fund

This Non- Refundable Fee (formerly the ‘Capital Fund Fee’) is implemented to ensure future expansion projects and growth of the school. Therefore, this funding is not optional and is treated as such in terms of collection. This one time fee of R$ 20,000 Per Student may be paid as follows:

  1. Payment in Full submitted to BIS Business Office. This method will receive a 10% discount and reduces the total fee to R$ 18,000 per student.

  2. Payment can be paid in four installments of R$ 5000. These four monthly payments will reflect a charge via ITAU billing services along with your regular tuition payment. Specific months to bill must be identified by parent at registration via application. These months cannot be altered once selected as they will be set up via automatic bank billing. Note: All applicants must agree upon a payment option at registration as designated on the application.

  3. Full amount may be divided into 12 monthly payments of R$ 1667 per month.

Additional Information

School Uniforms

Please keep in mind that all students are required to be in proper uniform attire as outlined in the student handbook. Compliance Fees will be issued for all students who are in violation of the school dress code requirements. Our uniforms our sold at a local uniform store and not at school.

Lunch Program

BIS strives to ensure your child has a hot and nutritional daily lunch. All students (exclude Pre K3 & Pre K4) will purchase Lunch Punch Cards. Each card contains 20 punches. These will be punched each day your child is served a hot lunch. By using this method, there can be some flexibility with what day your child eats hot lunch versus the monthly menu option. These cards can be purchased at the Business Office. Replacement fee for lost Lunch Cards will be R$10 per day, until a new card is purchased. Credit will be given on Replacement Cards based on Time of Original Purchase, without consideration for lunches brought from home.
